iDrive touch New features BMWs iDrive

BMW´s iDrive
BMW iDrive was a pioneer and does that name with a futuristic new version. More eye-candy and improved controls on the system to fall between the competitors.

When BMW iDrive was introduced in 2001 was an absolute pioneer in the rest. Soon after a torrent of criticism. And that was not the air as BMWs first attempt at an all-in-one system in the car was not exactly user-friendly name. Now, more than ten years later, made great strides in infotainment technology and there is a new iDrive behind the scenes.

The improved BMW iDrive must again distinguish it from its competitors when it comes to usability. What is new is the navigation system that two major upgrade has been compared with the current version. Firstly, the graphics are significantly enhanced to improve readability and secondly there are, for the big cities, 3D buildings added that the route easier to identify.

Another addition is made to the well-known iDrive-button. Which is in its new form with a touchpad, a feature that Audi already arrived. Especially to those of BMW is that it for example pinch-to-zoom can be used as we know of smartphone and tablets. Also, characters can be entered manually on the new button.

The third novelty is the car as a mobile service to hotspot. Enter a SIM card and passengers can use a 4G connection. The dongle is also removable and can, without food, 30 minutes outside the car used.
